Lift and Escalator Technician
Ben's job title is Stairlift Technician at Dolphin Stairlifts South West
I cover all aspects of the Stairlift Technician role. I do installations, removals, repairs and servicing. Anything you can think of, I am more than happy to be involved. I don’t install through the floor lifts, but I do service and repair them.
I think logically, I love problem-solving and I have good attention to detail, all of which help me do my job well. I have very high standards – I want to make sure I provide the best possible service for the client.

I love seeing how the work I do helps people - the stairlift gives them independence and makes their life more comfortable. It’s extremely important to me that my job makes a positive impact.
I love being part of the engineers’ team – we all gel really well. We all meet in the mornings and discuss any issues we might have. We set up plans for the day and then normally go off on our own to do the installations. Although we work independently, we will always help each other out if needed.
There’s no end to the exciting things that can be achieved. There is always more I can learn, which I love. There is always a step up the ladder I can keep taking, and I find that exciting in itself. Doing this job gives me a great sense of purpose because I am helping others.
