Around 50 per cent of the team are 18 to 25 and all of us came directly from sixth form which means, even at the start of your training, you feel part of a team. There’s always someone there to give you a helping hand or some constructive criticism. It’s also really inspiring to see young people in the wider team doing so well. There are people here who are 24 and 25 that are Senior Surveyors, which is amazing. It is great to be in such a supportive environment and to have higher steps on the career ladder to reach for.

I haven’t been here that long, but I definitely have aspirations. I really hope I'll be promoted to Assistant Surveyor in the next six months – that’s my goal. While being here, I’ve helped organise events like the work Christmas party and other social and cultural get-togethers, so they’ve felt like achievements in their own way.

My short-term goal is to achieve a good grade at university, as I’m studying alongside my traineeship, and then go on to achieve Registered Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accreditation. Then I’ll have two options – either progress in my career here or work for myself. I’ll see how the next five years go.
